Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 9 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Kamomi, including our website, calendar, account features, and related services (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Kamomi is a multicultural product and service, including our calendar service designed to help people view Chinese and British festivals and holidays, create personal events, and, where available, share calendars and events with other people.

Some features may require an account. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features from the Service from time to time.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms to create an account and use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of another person or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

3. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account and for keeping that information up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your account, except where that activity results from our own failure to take reasonable security measures.

You must not share your password or knowingly allow another person to access your account without authorisation.

If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, you should contact us at this link as soon as possible.

4. Creating and managing events

The Service allows you to create your own events and calendar information.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you add, including dates, times, locations, reminders, and descriptions.

We are not responsible for missed appointments, missed deadlines, travel problems, or other consequences resulting from inaccurate event information, incorrect time zones, incorrect reminders, service interruptions, or your failure to check an event.

Calendar reminders are provided as a convenience and should not be treated as guaranteed notifications.

5. Shared calendars and events

Where the Service allows you to share calendars or events, you control who you invite or otherwise give access to, subject to the sharing functionality available in the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to share information about other people.

You must not use shared calendars to expose another person's private or confidential information without appropriate permission.

6. User content

“User Content” means information, text, event details, calendar information, images, or other material that you submit or store using the Service.

You retain ownership of User Content that you own.

By submitting User Content, you grant us the limited permission necessary to host, store, process, reproduce, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you and the people with whom you choose to share it.

This permission ends when the relevant User Content is deleted, subject to reasonable technical and legal retention requirements.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Abuse, harass, threaten, or impersonate other users
  • Use the Service to distribute illegal or harmful content
  • Collect personal information about other users without permission
  • Attempt to bypass security or access controls
  • Reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law
  • Use automated systems to overload or abuse the Service

8. Content and moderation

We are not responsible for User Content created by users. Users are responsible for the content they add to the Service.

We may remove, restrict, or disable access to User Content where we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, the rights of another person, or the security or operation of the Service.

If you believe content on the Service violates these Terms or applicable law, please contact us at this link.

9. Festival and holiday information

The Service may provide information about Chinese festivals, British holidays, lunar dates, solar terms, and related cultural information.

This information is provided for general informational and calendar purposes and may not be suitable for legal, financial, employment, educational, religious, travel, or other official purposes.

Dates and traditions may vary by location, calendar system, cultural practice, or official announcement. You should verify important dates with an appropriate official source when accuracy is critical.

10. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, third-party services, network failures, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

11. Changes to the Service

We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service from time to time.

Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of significant changes that materially affect your use of the Service.

12. Third-party services

The Service may rely on or integrate with third-party services, including authentication, hosting, email, analytics, notifications, or other infrastructure providers.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the independent operation or policies of third-party services.

13. Intellectual property

Except for User Content and third-party materials, the Service and its original content, design, branding, software, text, graphics, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Kamomi.

You may use the Service for its intended personal or authorised purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit our materials without our permission unless permitted by law.

14. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled in accordance with that Privacy Policy.

15. Account suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that the user has violated these Terms, misused the Service, created a security risk, or engaged in unlawful activity.

Where appropriate and reasonably possible, we will provide notice before taking action. We may act immediately where necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.

16. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis without guarantees that it will always be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or suitable for every purpose.

We do not guarantee that calendar calculations, festival dates, reminders, notifications, or user-created events will always be accurate or delivered without delay.

You should maintain your own records of important appointments, deadlines, travel arrangements, and other time-sensitive information.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liability that cannot legally be restricted.

Subject to the paragraph above, to the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or unforeseeable losses arising from your use of the Service.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict any statutory rights that you have under applicable consumer protection law.

18. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service or your material breach of these Terms.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect means that you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, where applicable.
